Trip of the year



Tapi belum sempat nak cerita details kat sini. Harap sempat dan rajin la dalam awal tahun depan.

Lonnie.

I've been working for more than a year now using the same laptop I had since university days. It is about time to change to a new one since Darling have few problems that she couldn't cope with my work needs anymore.

Suddenly I felt sad, now that I slowly transferring all my works from Darling to Lonnie. (blame that extra monthly hormone!)  Darling has been witnessing a lot of different phases in my life, heck i'm earning money using it. But I really need a major hardware upgrade since it already affecting my work. So it is time to move on.

I would remember 23 September 2017 forever. Felt extra special cause it is Kibum's 26th birthday!

This is a dream come true! Although it is only four of them there, it is totally fine for me.



Emm who am i kidding, I cried as soon as they started singing. And continue crying every single time I heard Onew's voice.




I still can't believe this is actually happening! But it did! A very very very happy shawol over here!

"Untunglah kaya"

Even it is in joking tone, it still irk me so much. Because i know that travelling is a luxury for me. I work for it to happen. It is definitely not a last minute plan.

I usually plan my trip a year before. Too early?? I don't think so. It give me enough time to breath and properly plan my financial flow. Of course original plan will not be the same with the final plan but that make excitement of planning a trip, make you look forward to the good times ahead! Well, there is the famous saying 'if you fail to plan, you plan to fail'. After financing myself for awhile, I learned that it is very important to prioritize things since I couldn't afford everything with my fresh grads salary.

Save RM10,000 and spend it in all at once for travel seems impossible for me. Unexpected thing might come and I may having temptation to change my mind on the very last seconds. So I make sure to have a goal and timeline.

So the trick is :

1. Have a realistic goal. Ukur baju dibadan sendiri.

2. Start saving as you do your research. Know your saving target and where to spend the money first. For example, I decided to book the flight ticket first cause normally the ticket price will just go up and won't go any cheaper. Then move to accommodation and transport.

3. Be a diligent researcher, do not settle in one place. Check every single website, make google your beloved bestfriend. Don't afraid to ask around, use referral links, join facebook group for tips

4. Do not go too far off the margin.You can be flexible, just make sure give range to it. Be wise, darling.

5. Subscribe to all related newsletter. And do check every 2 weeks. You will never know when they drop the promotion with good bargain price. Take advantage of Air Asia free seat or MAS deals of the day.

6. Consistent is the key. I have a travel fund and fill it every month without fail. So you do need to be discipline if you were to follow this plan. Maybank have goal saving plan feature that you could utilize to help you reach your target consistently.



Travelling should be a happy and relaxing occasion not something burdening. I never believe in owing money just for travel. That is why I make plan to help me sort out everything properly.

"What is hardware in Bahasa?"

The boss of mine often ask random questions but this got me thinking. All of sudden I remember my younger siblings' teknologi maklumat textbook that are fully in Malay and I had a hard time understanding it. Nowadays, they started learn pseudocode in primary school! Back in my school days, we do not have that subject thus I only started involving myself in IT field once I step into university.

I do enjoy Amanz website for all IT related news in Bahasa Malaysia. Really appreciate that they make a complete IT related website in proper Bahasa Malaysia just for ones that are much comfortable using the official language of Malaysia to stay updated.

Remember that day I told you that my phone, Senah failed me?

Yup I got replacement, Kiah. Bought it using maxis one plan promo for RM1! Totally a bargain right?! So what's the catch? We need to subscribe for Maxis One Plan for min of a year. I went for the highest plan that cost me RM200/month inc gst with 25GB weekdays 25GB weekends data. I know, i'm crazy.

Since i'm planning to subscribe this, we decided to unsubscribe wifi service in the house. My sister and I were barely at home and we felt like we don't really use much of the wifi as we had enough of our own mobile data plan.

Last weekend I decided to be lazy and stayed on bed the whole day. Normally I would be able to enjoy my dose of korean drama or recent movies using the wifi but now nahhh. Suddenly I felt empty, serba salah don't know what to do. It's been awhile since I have attached myself fully to internet. I always prefer do things online thus 50GB data/month is certainly not enough.



I regret it now. But it is just tooooooo late, need to learn live without it.

Siapapun yang suka hidangan makanan laut dan tinggal di sekitar lembah klang mesti pernah dengar nama Shell Out.


Yang saya pergi ni branch Kota Damansara. Dekat dengan Sunway Giza Mall. Konsep dia mungkin boleh main conteng segala permukaan restoran yang ada, bagus untuk kanak-kanak.






Disebabkan menu dia sedikit pening dan masing-masing dah kelaparan, order combo set jelah senang semua ada.

Tahap kepedasan pula ada pilihan Mild, Medium, OMG. Mula-mula nak minta Mild je sebab tak berapa makan pedas and lapar kot takde masa nak layan kepedasan melampau. Then according to the waiter, Medium tu sikit je pedas. Okay lah yang tu jelah.

Medium ni pun sebenarnya biasa-biasa je dengan tekak orang malaysia yang biasa dengan rempah. Tak pedas apa pun. Kalau yang jenis makan pedas mesti takde hal la conquer yang OMG tu.



We knew masing-masing memang tak boleh harap bab nak habiskan makanan jadi decided untuk tak pesan hidangan sampingan tambahan.




Bila makanan sampai, perangai tamak dalam diri terus cakap ni sikit sangat ni mana cukup untuk tiga orang. Seriously ini je ke?! Nasib baik cepat-cepat berpikiran waras and said, let just eat first we could totally tambah later.

And guess what?! Mestilah yang sedia ada pun jenuh untuk dihabiskan, banyak rupanya. Mula la rasa bersyukur buat keputusan tak ikut nafsu semata.

Rasa dia sedap ala-ala masak sambal. Saya tak berapa pandai mengukur tahap kesegaran segala makan laut tapi takde la rasa macam yang dah simpan berminggu. Tak ada bau hanyir laut, semuanya disediakan dan dimasak dengan elok.




Sekarang banyak pulak restaurant yang menawarkan hidangan seafood ala shell out ni. I'm so gonna plan to taste other restaurant version of "shell out" and compare. Bagi saya, kalau ada pilihan makanan laut yang lagi murah dah dapat rasa yang lebih kurang sama. Why you need to go here kan?

It's time to share some good food.

Semalam jalan-jalan cari makan di sekitar damansara. Kalau kita google best dessert in damansara, Miru Dessert Cafe ni mesti yang pertama pop up. We decided to trust google and try some of their food.


It is a Japanese dessert cafe with that gnome named Miru as their mascot. The cafe environment is quiet cozy, a nice lepak place to catch up my girlfriends. Oh and free wifi is also available.






Nice clean taste that we all need after eating all those sweet dessert. Everything you expected.



This is surely look so good when it first arrived but sadly I don't enjoy this shaved iced that much. The strawberry tasted so plain for my liking, it does not have that kicked taste i was expecting. Kinda disappointed because with that price I certainly expect more that just bland strawberry jam with bite size cheesecakes inside. I'll pass this next time.



Upon tasted the toast, i totally understand why this is their signature dessert and everyone recommended it. With thick toast spread with butter, edges is crispy and nicely toasted yet still fluffy at the center serve with whipped cream plus two scoops of vanilla ice cream. It came with two size, baby and regular. You could finished off the regular size on your own if you came with a empty stomach. I could totally come back here to try their other version of toast yet still not mind to just order this again and again. Love it!

Been busy rushing through the datelines. After few months in this new phase of life, I discover some of major differences between the two. Sometimes I couldn't help to miss my student life but most of the time I just enjoy learning new things informally every single day.

Responsibility

I know that the responsibility will be changed but I just didn't realize how big it is. Maybe I thought too lightly on this. When you're a student, you are still relying to the parents. A LOT. Now as I am all on my own, I really felt the big responsible and more conscious of my action as this effect directly to the future. No more wake up late, no more ponteng, no more procrastinate, no more late submission. Oh you still can do all those things just prepare to face the consequences; get warning, losing your job and be blacklisted. Your choice.

Money

Oh dear I was so wrong when I thought I will be financially stable right after I secure the job. Everything does not come in a bling of eye. It takes time. After calculating all the commitment I somehow left with just a small amount of spend on things I want. Now I'm learning to prioritize things, needs before wants, that's the most important. If not you will find yourself struggle in the middle of the months.

Time

Time management is very important now because I always had so many things to do in limited amount of time. We always take it for granted during school because the teachers/lecturers always give us a second chances to redeem ourselves. Clearly that does not happen in the real world. If I fail to deliver things on time it will affect the project timeline and yes that means troubles. Will be stuck from 9 to 6 at the office on weekdays and sometimes had to work overtime on weekends. Those busy life make me sometimes miss all the extra free time I'll always get during school. I found myself making time only with the people I want to be. We just do not have any time and energy to waste with the wrong people.

Appearance

It is does not matter what kind of jobs you had, you still need to be at least presentable in the workplace. As much as I want to ignore this but in reality, first impression matter especially when you are in the corporate world. I found myself care about my look (clothes & make up) more since I started working compare to when I'm still a student. I am in the professional fields so definitely must act like one.

Social Life

I feel that I am not afraid on meeting new people anymore. There are much more going on in the real life. People problem and drama that you are not expecting at all. The social circle is getting smaller and smaller as it is difficult to make new friends after school. We used to be surrounded by people of similar age but well not anymore. But people just come and go and I have learned to accept that. I don't really care about it anymore, just do good and good things eventually comes after.


This are a few major things I could think of for the moments. Still have a lot more to learn and adapt. Things get hard sometimes but I just hope to get over it fast and survive just fine.

Berapa bulan dah perap tak siap-siap pft. Finally here.




Baru balik from the trip with my girls last last last last last week. Okay tipu. Lama dah sebenarnya. Awal bulan 10 to be exact. Pretty sure all of us had fun and enjoy ourselves to the fullest before the reality kicks in. Kini dah kembali depan laptop uruskan segala urusan surat-menyurat yang belum sudah, trying to stabilize myself in between kerja and personal life.




This is our very first trip together. Kenal dari zaman hingusan, selebet, immature and now masing-masing dah settle with degree and moving to a new phase of life. Nowadays kan rasa reachable je dengan group chat rupanya baru perasan yang the last time all of us together were in the same place together was three years ago. Susah nak cari common time as all of us busy dengan commitment masing-masing. Since two of us dah start working, weekend is the only common free time we had.

Lepas tu berlagak taknak book tiket bas awal-awal sekali malam jumaat tu kalut bas semua dah penuh sebab long weekend awal muharram. So we started late, sabtu petang baru sampai penang dalam kelaparan. Mula-mula we planned to take bus as our major transportation mode tapi bila kau dah berempat memang lagi jimat kalau guna uber/grabcar. Kalau sendiri or berdua yes bas lagi murah but bila dah berempat tambang uber/grabcar tu bila bahagi 4 boleh jadi lagi murah dari tambang bas.

We chose to stay at batu ferringhi for the first night and semalam lagi kat georgetown. But since sampai batu ferringhi pun dah dekat pukul 6pm tak dapat la nak buat any aktiviti laut. Lepas maghrib baru keluar cari makan and masing-masing kebuluran tahap tinggi. Decided to pergi try Mady Char Kuey Teow since it was placed at a quite high rate kalau google makanan sedap di batu ferringhi. Unfortunately malam tu malam minggu. Dia warong kecil je dengan seorang tukang masak. We barely got a seat, kena tunggu a while to order, lepas tu tunggu lagi untuk makanan sampai.




Oh that was really really a bad choice. All of us yang kelaparan ni ada high expectation in this dish tapi yang sampai hm menghampakan..

Let just say that this small portion of noodles can't fully satisfied our stomach. Pergi la McD untuk sambung isi perut. Then have a little shopping along the night market.




Esoknya pagi-pagi lepas breakfast and check out, singgah taman negara kejap. Ingat nak try the canopy walk there unfortunately it is closed for maintenance. So just lepak kejap tepi-tepi laut tu jelah since we are not up for jungle trekking. Cuaca hari tu boleh tahan panas. Then off to georgetown. Sok sek sok sek dah tengah hari gak sampai sana. Terus check in hotel, tinggal beg settle down kejap then off to cari makan.







Misi asal nak serang Deen Maju yang dikatakan ada nasi kandar sedap gila tu sekali baru perasan hari ahad dia tutup. Apa lagi kecewa gila dah la lapar. Esoknya pun tutup sebab public holiday. Hahaha memang tak ada rezeki la kali ni. Off to another kedai nasi kandar yang direkomen oleh abang grabcar yang terpaksa melayan kitorang suggest kedai nasi kandar lain yang sedap, Malangnya tak sesedap yang disangka. Mungkin taste abang tu pelik sikit completely different with us.




Then off to Straits Quay dengan niat nak shopping kejap sambil cuci mata tapi tak beli apa pun. Petang tu pergi padang kota for 3D Trick Art Museum and have the famous pasembur there for dinner.





Lepas tu dah malam naik bas balik georgetown singgah 1st avenue mall and had karaoke session. By the time keluar dari situ dah pukul 1 pagi and super tired. Jalan kaki balik hotel nasib baik dekat je. Habis dah sehari.

The next day, bangun pagi terus siap-siap check out. Our plan is of course street art hunting. Lepas tinggal beg kat reception terus merayau. Transportation mode for today is basikal. Banyak je tempat rent basikal everywhere. RM10 untuk sehari suntuk guna la sampai lebam. Yang penting cari basikal yang elok sikit sebab keselesaan tu penting. We were so lazy to search around so decided to settle with the first kedai sewa basikal yang kitorang nampak dekat dengan street art motor. Aunty tu kasi peta kawasan tarikan pelancong and all. Okay la tapi basikal tak berapa cantik and seat keras seksa punggung seharian.

Oh pagi tu breakfast roti canai transfer road yang famous tu. Lepas tu lunch teow chew cendol then singgah beli jeruk untuk as survenior. Sempat jugak la masuk upside down museum. Time tu dah hujan rintik-rintik we were like alamak cemana ni nasib baik kejap gila lepas tu weather okay balik.


Pukul 5 nak pulang balik basikal sebab flight lepas maghrib around 8 camtu. Malas nak lambat takut jalan jem je apa ke kan sekali datang balik kedai Aunty tu dia boleh pulak pergi tutup kedai sebab pekerja dia tiba-tiba cuti. I left my bag inside mana boleh tinggal basikal and pergi begitu sahaja. Dah drama depan kedai tunggu dia datang balik.









Lastly nak balik dah tapi flight delay pulak. Sampai rumah pukul 12 malam and esoknya tersengguk-sengguk dalam office.
